Query : Sir,
I used to hold the credit card of HDFC and CITI BANK,due to some issue we went for settlement with each of these banks.
I had a full and final settlement letter from CITI BANK and an agreement letter from HDFC for the final amount settled.
Recently i applied for personal loan with ICICI and subsequently with CITI BANK,I was told that the status in the cibil is shown as WRITE OFF with each of these bank.
I called up these banks to check on the status ,CITI BANK has given me mail saying that the name has already been removed from the CIBIL and HDFC asked to pay the balance amount also,and has said that the letter will be sent to me.
I adduced the document for availing the personal loan,but was told that the name still reflects there.How do I now proceed?
Pls advice on the same

You could approach the bank again and get a confirmation that your name is removed from CIBIL. Or else you can approach any nationalized bank since they do not refer to CIBIL

when u say nationalised bank,do u refer to state bank,bank of baroda,etc.if so,the latest report as on cibil,i have seen SBI,Bank of baroda ,Punjab National Bank are having their holds on CIBIL.Could u please let me know which are the banks u r refering to

I was referring to smaller nationalised banks like Union Bank,Syndicate bank etc & also co-operative banks.
